I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate licensed in North Carolina. I started Gold Heart Counseling, LLC in Hickory, NC to treat couples and individuals on a wide array of issues, including infidelity, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body image, premarital counseling, alcohol abuse, divorce, death and illness. As a therapist, I have worked with all ages in various settings, including inpatient, medical centers, outpatient clinics, and long term care facilities. I am passionate about guiding adolescents and adults on their personal journey to wellness by addressing the mind, body, and spirit.

I look forward to working with you on your mental health journey. You will find me to be gentle and compassionate, yet strong. I will listen to you with respect and care. You are not alone. We will be taking this journey together as I guide you back to a place of happiness. We will take the middle path between Acceptance and Change.

I concentrated on Theories of Happiness and Positive Psychology in graduate school while becoming a therapist. I am here to tell you that “You are not stuck.” If you are unhappy in your life, YOU can change. YOU have choices. Your current situation is not forever. Keep moving forward. Let me, your new therapist, be that first safe step toward where you want to be. If you can change your mind, you can change your life.

I have studied theories and techniques and have simplified them into simple, actionable, strategies for peak performance, creativity, health, serenity and well being. I graduated with honors from Wake Forest University with a B.A. in both Psychology and Communications. I attended graduate school at Lenoir-Rhyne University with a masters in clinical mental health counseling before opening Gold Heart Counseling in Hickory, NC. Wherever you are, I am trained to offer you Hope.

Why I Became a Therapist and started Gold Heart Counseling

Is your world turned upside down? Has the

  • I want people to know you can feel better about and enjoy your life.
  • You don’t have to wear your exhaustion like a badge of honor.
  • I want people to be able to share when things aren’t going well, and be helped not judged.
  • Making big decisions is difficult, and you need a space without another person’s agenda.
  • Feeling alone or lost hurts and I want to stand by you and guide you out of it.
  • I know you deserve to feel better and be better.

“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.”
